Why E-Maji-N8tion exists

We started with a simple question: what if more children had books within reach?

Books create worlds. They expose children to ideas. They make unfamiliar places familiar. They provide language for things children haven't yet experienced. They give children somewhere to go without leaving the room.

But imagination needs access.

E-Maji-N8tion exists to help close that gap. We start with books. We're building toward reading. And eventually, toward more places where children can discover both.

We're a business with a social mission — not a charity. The bookshop pays its way; the bigger ambition grows from it. We find books, put them on shelves, and help schools get them into children's hands.

The founders

Built by two people who understand different sides of the problem.

how things move

One of us comes from procurement, logistics and operational coordination — sourcing books, moving them, getting shelves built and installed where they need to be.

how ideas move

The other comes from marketing, research, writing and publishing — building the story, the audience and the partnerships that create demand for the work.

We're also a couple. It mostly means the book conversations don't stop at dinner.

What we believe

  • We believe imagination is useful.
  • We believe children deserve books beyond textbooks.
  • We believe reading should be something children want to do.
  • We believe a library does not have to be a building.
  • We believe access matters.
  • We believe a shelf can become a doorway.
  • We believe a child should be able to discover a world they have never seen.
  • We believe businesses can build meaningful social outcomes without pretending to be charities.
  • We believe we should start with what schools already have.
  • We believe every project should teach us something about the next one.

A book is small. A shelf is small. A reading nook is small. But what happens inside a child's imagination is not.
